Venue Name:  Chapter: House of the Silver Crescent (CA-016)

Venue: Camarilla/Anarch Venue

'Camarilla/Anarch', others approved on a case by case basis

Contact: Primary Storyteller- Michael Jackson- Palpatine@punkass.com

Place/Time: Games are held at a number of different venues… these include San Juan Capistrano near the train station, locations at the University of California at Irvine, downtown Huntington Beach, and several private venues in Silverado and Midway City. There are occasional admission fees, usually once every four or five games. They are usually around $3. At a game that is a potluck, there is usually a charge of $4-$5 if someone does not bring a dish.

Theme and Mood: The House of the Silver Crescent runs a film noir style of kindred game that focuses on elements of mood, mystery, and gothic horror. Although intrigue is a key point, PvP (player versus player) is not the focus. The HSC seeks a sensible middle between story and player driven games.

"Monsters we are, lest monsters we become…" Imagine the protagonists of Interview with the Vampire, or the council of Elders in the movie Blade. These are the characters that our chronicle is concerned with… a society of the undead, both modern and antiquated, who gather in the halls built by their ancient traditions to preserve their way of existence, and shore up the defenses between them and the even darker forces that wish to destroy them. For truly, although your soul are damned… there are worse creatures out there in the Night.

Costuming and makeup are highly encouraged in HSC games, as well as well thought, interesting personae. House Rules: Every game is built on a different premise than the last, usually alternating a more dangerous, informal gathering with a more solemn, Court assembly each month. Please inquire as to which character is best suited to the month's game, as this will differ from month to month. Characters will travel to the game based on the month's game concept, again, talk to the storyteller in charge for that particular game. Proxy characters can be run if players are found to proxy them. Proxies need to conform with the rules as per 5.1

There will occasionally be soft-caps on Camarilla and Independent clans. This means that if you really want to play a character of this type, a very in depth concept and background is required. Caps are determined by numbers of active members in the city. Non-RPS (rock, paper, scissors) challenges are encouraged, otherwise standard Camarilla/MET rules apply. Players are encouraged to use cards and not throw hand symbols to discourage cheating. · For current events, please see our events page. · For directions to venues, please see our directions page. Note that Storyteller calls made are not to be argued. Debating and rules lawyering disrupts the flow mood and feel for the game and will be met with repercussions as per the Tome. All players are expected to adhere to the rules of Larp and the COC

The game provided for the players strives to give strong atmosphere and mystery, providing a rich environment for the Undead to delve into the shadow ridden corners of the World of Darkness, and explore the mysterious and sometimes deadly aspects of the boundless realm of the supernatural. The primary antagonists include those Kindred given entirely over to the Beast (such as the Sabbat), more calculating and sinister entities, and also some with a more Lovecraftian bent… the servants of Oblivion. Players will encounter a strong element of the dark side of the varied cultures that gather in Southern California… from the small nautical history of the Costa Guarda and pirate attacks, to the "Dia de Los Muertos" spin on the Hispanic culture… from the Asian influence of Shadow Assassins and Hungry Ghosts, to the posh elite that gather in the opulent mansions of Cowan Heights and Laguna Beach.
